I don't know how much money my book gift baskets raised for Compassion Creates Change. I do know the display of items to bid on was beautifully arranged, the meal delicious, and the live auction for hotter items raised a lot of money.
As Pastor Scott Daniels said trying to get higher bids felt just like giving an altar call. I "won" a basket of all types of Mary Kay lotions I'll give to my daughter Joanne for Mother's Day.

I'm looking forward to following your blog, Pat.
Enjoyed reading your upcoming "Lost in Cyberspace" article at Critique Group today!
Sharon (above) came to visit me in Colorado last week-end - we have been blogging friends for over 3 years. When I heard she lived in Temple City (never knew her town before), I realized that's where Casa Robles is - I asked her if she knew about CR - she said not only did she know about it, but she knows people who live there - then she mentioned you. I couldn't believe the connection! I stayed with Brashers one summer when I needed a place to stay between junior and senior years at BNC. They treated me like a queen. Lois talked about you often - she was so proud of you.
Life is full of interesting surprises - and the connections in Nazarendom are amazing. And this blogging world has been such fun.
Ah, connections! How awesome is that?
